The Heart of Speedway – Daugavpils

From the very beginning, speedway in Daugavpils has drawn full stands of passionate fans. Today, the Daugavpils “Lokomotīve” Stadium is a nationally significant sports venue, regularly hosting both Latvian and international competitions – including the Latvian Championships, European Championship and Speedway Grand Prix rounds, Polish 2nd League races, and many other events.

The number of spectators continues to grow, and the tradition of speedway is stronger than ever. It is here, in Daugavpils, that several generations of athletes have grown up – many of whom have become international champions, carrying the name of the city far beyond the borders of Latvia.
